Ben's Cold War/nuclear song. The 80s was the decade of nuclear paranoia, and of its reflection in popular music -- I think Kate Bush's Breathing is my favourite.* There seemed reason enough for the odd access of nightmarish dread. Part of the Rota project was a nuclear song cycle by John, unreleased apart from The Conflagration (Video Rideo). Another unreleased piece was Fest's AtomNoise. GG
* Recently discovered, I have to add to this the brilliantly characteristic What a Way to Surrender from 1982's Animation by Jon Anderson. My admiration for progressive rock's choir-boy-ecstatic doesn't lessen.
