My Philosopy

The track is a suitable follower for my previous song on this album, "Moving Through Traffic". The theme of "My Philosophy" is the awaiting, or some impending sense, of a self- and world-transfiguring moment of revelatory understanding. In this it also bears a strong relationship to "It's Coming!", first released on the CD Enormous Savages Enlarged (Klanggalerie 2009), and also as part of the EP Extra Savage -- In The Hands of the Mako'lenga (Iron Banana 2026). "Uplift and Direction (Glider Flight)" (1932) is a painting by the famous Swiss-German artist Paul Klee (1879--1940). (We cannot reproduce it without obtaining the right as it is in a private collection, but of course images can be found on the Internet.) In his short book Paul Klee on Modern Art (1924), Klee writes very interestingly about the relationship of the mind of the artist to the world. (GG, 25/10/26)

My Philosophy

My philosophy is coming
down the country
My philosophy is coming
to meet me

It’s going to be the great
creative moment of my life
Aerial, taut and totally free
"Uplift and Direction
(Glider Flight)" by Klee
